Christmas Ornaments Hat


Free Crochet Pattern: Holiday Hat

Materials:
Red Heart Super Saver or any worsted weight yarn
Crochet Hook Size H (5.00 mm)
Tapestry Needle
Polyester Stuffing

Difficulty:
Easy

Finished Size:
For 0-3 months

Stitch Guide:
ch(s) - chain(s)
sc - single crochet
sc2tog - single crochet two together (decrease)


Pattern:

Hat

Applique
Choose any applique you want to put on. Check out my Pinterest Board for free crochet appliques.

Top Of The Hat

Hanger:
Round 1: Chain 8, join in the first chain to make a ring.
Round 2: Chain 1, and do 10 sc in the ring.
Fasten off and leave a long tail.

Cylinder Top:
Round 1: ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, do not join, work in continuous round. (6 sc)
Round 2: 2 sc in each sc. (12 sc)
Round 3: *1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to * around. (18 sc)
Round 4: *1 sc in each of the next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to * around. (24 sc)
Round 5:  sc around in back loops only. (24 sc)
Round 6-8: sc around in both loops. (24 sc)
Round 9: work in back loops only *sc in the first sc, sc2tog * repeat * to * around (18 sc)
Round 10: work in both loops again * sc in the first sc, sc2tog * repeat * to * around (12 sc)
Begin to stuff here. Do not over stuff it, shape it as you stuff.
Round 11: sc2tog around (6 sc)
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing later.

Finishing
Sew together the hanger and the cylinder top. 
And sew it to the top of the hat. 
Weave all the ends.

Use super fine yarn and a tiny hook and this could be a cute Christmas ornament (if you don't have a baby to crochet for).

I thought these were a Christmas bell ornament, not a beanie! Actually think if on a smaller scale it would be an awesome bell!
