Cancer Awareness Graphgan

This finished project is made and photographed by Clara Gipson.
She used a crochet hook in size L (8.00 mm), consumed almost 3 skeins of white yarns and 2 skeins of pink yarns. She made her afghan by following the 50x50 graph and used the diagonal box stitch/ corner to corner technique, the finished project measures 55” x 55”.

Afghan For My Mom

Free Crochet Pattern, Crochet Afghan Pattern, Spring Afghan

Spring is just around the corner and I can't wait for it! The nice weather, the beautiful flowers, the trees that turns into green again and spring break! Finally after 3 years we can visit home again and see my family in the Philippines. I made this afghan for my mom, this is perfect for chilly rainy days. Plus I know two things she loves, color green and flowers.

Sunrise Sunset Afghan

Have you ever feel the excitement of starting a project and then half-way done you've lost your interest to finish it?! Well, I do with this afghan. I started this last February 2013! The first time I set aside this is when I ran out of yarns. But when I got the materials again for this afghan I just have too many WIP projects and set aside this again until I just totally forgot about this and used the yarns for other projects! LOL!

Victorian Lattice Afghan

free crochet pattern, Victorian Lattice Square

After more than 3 years living in Mexico, we decided to move to the US! It's been crazy months of job hunting, working in our papers and house hunting. And this is my project on those long hours of driving- Victorian Lattice Square. I love this pattern so much! The pattern is available in written & chart. It's easy to memorize, very relaxing project and the finished product definitely look elegant.

I decided to use whatever in my stash and I have tons of this partially used skeins of Caron Simply Soft. I love this yarn, it's so soft and the colors are vibrant. Hint, if you are planning to make this afghan and wondering how many skeins of yarn you needed, I found out that I can make 6 squares in each skein. Each skein of Caron Simply Soft is 315 yards or 288 meters. And I used additional 2 full skeins of white yarn for joining and edging.

I used crochet hook size G (4.00 mm) and each squares measures 7 inches but it became 8 inches after I joined the last round (white part). To join each square I did the JAYG method (Join As You Go) and you can find the video tutorial HERE. And I add reverse single crochet or also known as crab stitch for the edging.

Here's my finished afghan. Made up of 42 squares and it measures 50 x 60 inches.

Graphghan SC vs. TSS

graphghan

Are you ready to start your first graphghan? In my earlier post, we talked about some FAQ about graphghan and one of the topic is what stitch we should use. Again, the answer is, it's personal preference. But today, we will talk about the two most common used stitch in making a graphghan- the Single Crochet (SC) and Tunisian Simple Stitch (TSS) or also known as Afghan Stitch.

Hello lovelies, I would like to share my first graphghan! I've been dying to make graphghan for so long but it always intimidated me. But, finally I got brave enough and tried it! It's not as hard as I thought, believe me! Even though this is very simple pattern I learned a lot by making this and I'm ready to try out a more detailed graphghan soon…
Here are some FAQ about graphghans:
