Materials:
Worsted Weight Yarn (#4)
Crochet Hook Size H (5.00 mm)
Needle
Sewing Thread
Zipper (6 inches)


Abbreviations/ Stitches:
CH- Chain(s)
SC- Single Crochet
HDC- Half Double Crochet
SK- Skip
Picot- *sc, ch 2, slip stitch in the 2nd ch, sc* in the same stitch


Front:
Start with slip knot and chain 2.
Row 1: sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, ch 1 and turn. (1 sc)
Row 2: 3 sc in the sc, ch 1 and turn. (3 sc)
Row 3: 2sc in the first sc, sc in the next sc, 2sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (5 sc)
Row 4: 2sc in the first sc, sc in the next 3 sc, 2sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (7 sc)
Row 5: 2sc in the first sc, sc in the next 5 sc, 2sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (9 sc)
Row 6: 2sc in the first sc, sc in the next 7 sc, 2sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (11 sc)
Row 7: 2sc in the first sc, sc in the next 9 sc, 2sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (13 sc)
Row 8: 2sc in the first sc, sc in the next 11 sc, 2sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (15 sc)
Row 9: 2sc in the first sc, sc in the next 13 sc, 2sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (17 sc)
Row 10: sc across. ch 1 and turn. (17 sc)
Row 11: 2 sc in the first sc, sc in the next 15 sc, 2 sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (19 sc)
Row 12: sc across. ch 2 and turn. (19 sc)
Row 13: dc in the first sc, ch 17, sk 17 sc, dc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (ch2, dc, 17 ch, dc)
Row 14: sc across. ch 1 and turn. (19 sc)
Row 15: sc in the next 9. ch 1 and turn ( 9 sc)
Row 16: sc in the first sc, sk the next sc, sc in the next 7 sc. ch 1 and turn (8 sc)
Row 17: sc in the first sc, sk the next sc, sc in the next 4 sc, sk the next sc, sc in the last. Ch 1 and turn. (6 sc)
Row 18: sc in the first sc, sk the next sc, sc in the next 2 sc, sk the next sc, sc in the last. Ch 1 and turn. (4 sc)
Row 19: sc in the first sc, sc2tog, sc in the last. (3 sc)
Fasten off.
Row 20-24: To make the left upper part of the heart, follow the instruction in Rows 15-19.
Row 25: sc around the heart. *sc, ch1, sc* at the bottom.


Back
Start with slip knot and chain 2.
Row 1: sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, ch 1 and turn. (1 sc)
Row 2: 3 sc in the sc, ch 1 and turn. (3 sc)
Row 3: 2sc in the first sc, sc in the next sc, 2sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (5 sc)
Row 4: 2sc in the first sc, sc in the next 3 sc, 2sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (7 sc)
Row 5: 2sc in the first sc, sc in the next 5 sc, 2sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (9 sc)
Row 6: 2sc in the first sc, sc in the next 7 sc, 2sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (11 sc)
Row 7: 2sc in the first sc, sc in the next 9 sc, 2sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (13 sc)
Row 8: 2sc in the first sc, sc in the next 11 sc, 2sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (15 sc)
Row 9: 2sc in the first sc, sc in the next 13 sc, 2sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (17 sc)
Row 10: sc across. ch 1 and turn. (17 sc)
Row 11: 2 sc in the first sc, sc in the next 15 sc, 2 sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (19 sc)
Row 12-15: sc across. ch 1 and turn. (19 sc)
Round 16: sc in the next 9. ch 1 and turn ( 9 sc)
Round 17: sc in the first sc, sk the next sc, sc in the next 7 sc. ch 1 and turn (8 sc)
Round 18: sc in the first sc, sk the next sc, sc in the next 4 sc, sk the next sc, sc in the last. ch 1 and turn. (6sc)
Round 19: sc in the first sc, sk the next sc, sc in the next 2 sc, sk the next sc, sc in the last. ch 1 and turn. (4sc)
Round 20: sc in the first sc, sc2tog, sc in the last. (3 sc)
Fasten off.
Row 20-24: To make the left upper part of the heart, follow the instruction in Rows 16-20.
Row 25: sc around the heart. *sc, ch1, sc* at the bottom.


Assembling:
Sew the zipper. The shortest I got is 7 inches, you can just cut it if it is too long.
Back to crocheting
Row 1: Facing wrong side together, sc together around
Row 2: *sc in the next sc, picot in the next, sc in the next* repeat from * to * around. Fasten off.




I prefer to sew the zipper by machine and it is the hardest part for me. It took me more than an hour to finish them all. And of course, it wasn't fun because I broke a needle!

Sewing a zipper by machine can be tricky.You have to be so very careful
